View Full Version : ergonomics of R1 soprano

I got myself a silver R1 soprano earlier this year: love it!

Two things disturb me from an ergonomic perspective:
1. The left palm D key (hi D) is way too low for me: I've added one of those key-building rubber caps, and still too low.
2. RH pinky keys (low C and E-flat) are "too short": my finger comes down on the edge of the key, and I have to bend my finger a lot in order to hit the middle of the key.

I've been playing a Mark VI soprano for 20+ years. I'm quite tall (6'), but my hands are not that big.

Have you come across these problems? If so, how have you dealt with them? Any modifications to the horn?
