I finally found easy and effective way to search SOTW. Unfortunately I only know how to set this up for Internet Explorer 7 and Google.

Open IE7 and click the drop-down arrow beside the search box on the IE toolbar.
Then click “Find More Providers…”

Follow the directions (with a twist) in the golden box.

So we go to google.com and do a search for
“TEST site:saxontheweb.net” without the quotes

Then we copy the resulting address from the address bar.

Go back to the Add Search Providers page and paste in the step 3 box. This is really easy if you use multiple tabs.
Step 4: Name your new search engine something catchy.
Step 5: Click install.

Make sure you check to “Make this my default search provider”.
Then click “Add Provider”

Now searching SOTW is just a couple of clicks away. Type your term into this search box and click the magnifying glass to search.

BONUS: If you want to set this up to search just the forums use “TEST site:forum.saxontheweb.net” no quotes. :) Cheers!

Or: skip all that stuff, use any browser on any platform you want, go straight to Google, and type the following in the search field:

site:saxontheweb.net wombats

(The above example will find every occurrence of the word "wombats" in SOTW. If for some reason you wanted to find out about something other than "wombats", just replace the word "wombats" with whatever you actually want to search for....)

Thanks for the input. You missed the point but thanks anyway. :)

I have an easier way to do this, that works with all versions of IE.

Got to www.flashpeak.com and download their SlimBrowser software. Install SlimBrowser, then look up 'quick-search bar' in the Help. Follow the instructions for extracting search engine data and adding entries to the Quick-Search bar.
