I came accross this on ebay. It doesn't look like an SML , the serial number is wrong and are they rolled tone holes? Is it a Beaugnier?

The bell brace and rolled toneholes make me think Kohlert...

Okay, check out saxpics Kohlert page on the 50s models, definitely the same horn. Don't know why it's engraved the way it is, but they are certainly twins.

Thanks for the quick replies. Wow that was a good spot. The sax and engraving definitely looks the same as on the Saxpics Kohlert.

It is a bit strange why a Kohlert has Marigaux engraving though?:)

Yes that's a Kohlert, probably stenciled for SML .....

Beware, it obviously needs work. Someone has replaced the original sheet-metal guards (and feet) for the low C/Eb keys with wire guards from who-knows.... More importantly, the neck: it is very likely a replacement from some non-Kohlert horn.

The neck is what really struck me as "not right".... It almost looks like a Conn C-Mel neck.... seems a little too long, but the horn is definitely a Kohlert. Very cool!!!!

Kohlert, no doubt.
