Fired up a Leblanc System horn, been fooling with it the last couple of weeks, have some questions/observations:

* tuning is very, very nice, seems even better than the modern Selmers, in that the high range is not so sharp.

* tone is quite nice, too, altho a bit mellower than some of the modern sounds.

* the neck receiver on top of body tube is a bit large for taking a Selmer neck, i have a spare Series I alto neck that i'm thinking of having the tenon expanded to fit. The neck seems to give most of the 'Selmer' sound, while the horn has the better tuning. Wondering if i can make the two work together; if so, would then try other Selmer necks to find just the right one.

Anyone out there care to comment on tuning of these horns, and possible neck changes??
thx.

I have three Leblanc System instruments for sale that belonged to the American Saxophone pioneer Cecil Leeson. Two altos and a tenor. Some have his name engraved. All have the special mechanisms. One alto is virtually new; never been played. The others are in excellent, like-new condition. All play exceptionally well.
Please contact me for more information.
