i always see kohlert tenors for $ 500
i don't actually own my own tenor (i am a beginer) so i am wondering if these are any good

I believe you will find that the OVERWHELMING consensus is that the NEW "Kohlert" saxophones are NOT very good horns, made somewhere in South East Asia. They are CHEAP (Inexpensive) and CHEAP (not very good quality or workmanship). They look nice (kinda like a movie star, until you get up close), but "MOST" don't play very well..... Use your $500 and put it towards a decent horn (American, German, French, Japan). If you invest a little more now, it will payoff huge dividends later. Keep practicing..... when your 50, you will thank yourself! :D

Have you played one?

I own one and it isn't bad at all. It beats the hell out of all other student saxes and a whole lot of intermediate ones. They're Vietnamese made, but they are a really good set of saxes. They are sure great for everyone except pros as they don't have PERFECT intonation. That doesn't mean it's that bad either, they are within acceptable range.

Im in southamerica and everything is 3+ times expensive..so my first sax I think would be an 500 usd kohlert tenor...here in ecuador with taxes the same sax at 800 usd sax/

do I need to change the mouthpiece, pictures,
