Did you ever get an answer to techs in Philly area? I've got an alto that needs professional help.

Check out Gustafson music in Manyaunk. They're a small place on Ridge Ave. Really great work.

I had the occasion to try Windworks Studio at 22nd and Rittenhouse in Philly today. Beverly was very nice, and found two leaks in my tenor, fixed them great, on the spot, after I called ahead the day before. Very nice lady, and she knows what she is doing. My horn plays like a dream now.
I had called Gustafson's, only to find out that they were not taking any new instruments for repair.

I would just like to second LarryG's recommendation of Windworks Studio in Philadelphia. Beverly and Lindsey are extremely knowledgeable and dedicated to their craft. Most importantly, they take the time with their clients to understand what they need as musicians. They offer high quality personalized service at its best. Call before you go in. They only take clients one at a time. Also, they will be moving soon, so ask directions.

Hey JS. I finally found Mike Hammer, and had him tweak my Buescher. He did a fantastic job! He replaced the terrible thumb rest that was on it, and replaced the pearl on my octave key. What a difference. A few pads, and some regulation as well. I only found him after I had no luck getting in touch with Windworks. I know they moved, but never received an answer on the new address.
Here is Mike Hammer's contact info for anyone in Philly area who needs it.
