Hey y'all :)

Just need some help here.

I'm trying out for scholarships to Texas Womans University. I was considering playing Improvisation et Caprice by Eugene Bozza. It's an interesting piece and complicated enough to impress if played correctly and the Improvisation part of it leaves room for artistic interpretation and expressiveness to come through. I really love it.

The problem is, would it be appropriate? I'm a pessimist and am convinced that nothing I decide is all that good, so I'm really wrestling with myself on this one. I would be a freshman I think and it would be the first that anyone from this particular school would hear me play...

I don't know if I should do it. What do y'all think?

ALSO.... do y'all know where I can get a chart of scales? like.. major, all of the minors, etc? I'd prefer downloading it but something to buy wouldn't be out of the question either...

Thanks :)

hmmmm.,......

I can't really help ya' out on the solo, but the deal with the sheet of scales i might be able to.

I know of several pianists (i'm a high-schooler, btw) who check a legal-sized piece of paper for chords they don't know. It doesn't have scales, mind you, but the chords (every mode of every key) make it invaluable to a jazzer. Does anyone elre know of this?
