When I try blow the note with single embrochure(lip on lower teeth and upper teeth on mouthpiece) it made me feel like there are some pressure or something squeezing around my head. But when I change to double embrochure(lips on both upper and lower teeth) there is no more pain to me, can someone tell me what is wrong? This feeling cause me unable to continue more than 3minutes :?

Perhaps it's something to do with the vibrations going through your teeth?

You might want to consider using a rubber mouthpiece patch.

yup, patch....get the heavy thick ones (Runyon I think), not the ones like tape. You may be putting way too much pressure also on the upper teeth also. Are your reeds to heavy for the opening your using? Just some thoughts.

try a softer reed, you may be applying to much pressure ... yeah a rubber mouthpiece patch would defintely reduce the vibrations .

kk: Yes, a mouthpiece patch will definately help but like others have said already, you could be applying too much pressure.

Paul C is a columnist for SOTW and he's written a series of articles for beginner (and not so beginner) Go have a look at these two:

You might find these helpful.

The answers to several questions might help with online diagnosis. Especially what mps reed combination, and your playing experience and any private suudids.

If on the same mouthpiece/reed combination, you can play with double embouchure and can't with teeth on top and lip covering the bottom teeth, it would appear that the reed is being severly dampened while using the second version.

After you read Paul's articles, consider that that the reed has to vibrate. The Jaw hinge should be relaxed and the lips form a cushion around a reed, mouthpiece, and A GOOD HEALTHY STEADY STREAM OF AIR.

Most of the best teachers I know teach the top teeth lightly touching the top of the mouthpiece method. It will be easier to swap out teachers as you progress if you learn this method. On balance I must say I've heard a couple of wonderful players using the double lip embouchure.

Check back in and let us know how you are doing. Have good fun with luck.

Ok, now I know what cause that pain. It happen because I stare down to the sheet music while playing along so.............I put the sheet on higher place and everything fine now :)
