what's the difference?

Hello,
I'm planning on buying a sopranino saxophone, but in my area the only ones that are available are the selmer SA80 II's and the yanagisawa SN981's. The selmer costs € 6133 and the yani € 2253. What's the deal with the big difference in price? I believe yani's are considered to be good soprano's (so I think nino's too). And I love my selmer altos so the nino's can't be bad either. So, can anyone explain this? Or tell me wich one you prefer?

Probably has something to do with the Selmer being from Europe. Look at the US ebay as abadcliche has a killer Buescher up.

I have a Yani 'nino and absolutely love it. About the only differences I can see between the two horns is that the Yani has just two palm keys and so will go up to an E. The Selmer has three palm keys, plus an F# key – and, of course, there's that Selmer name/mystique ... but I honestly don't think that an additionbal couple of half tones in range amount to 3k :shock: worth of better horn.

I would go with the Yana at the same price! As far as the upper range, you can play E,F,F# and higher using the LH stack keys + Eb palm. Did you check Matthew's in Holland?
