when i play top E front key it never comes out, the sound gurgles, why doesnt the nice top E sound come out :?:
i own a jupiter student model(at the moment)is it my playin or is there a fault in the instrument. i have been playing for just over a year and roughly grade 5-6. :D is there any tips on making the note come out :?: :Rant2: thanks

You are talking about front F with LH 2&3, yes? This is an important fingering, along with the F and F# based on the same approach. I got on top of it fairly early on with my playing, and as no-one told me different, I just fingered it and played it. Try playing the palm key note first so you can clearly hear the note in your head before playing it. It is possible your sax is out of adjustment, and also that your choice of mouthpiece and/or reed are working against you. I suggest you take it to a good teacher or maybe even a sax shop (maybe Myatt at Hitchin?) and see if you can get some free advice!

im using a rico royal 2 reed, do you think i need to go up or down to make the problem disapier. (im using a yamaha custum mouthpeice) 8)
if this dont work should i go to myatts to get it checked out as i live 10 min away! :D [/quote]

I would try a 2.5 or 3 reed on that mouthpiece. Its a cheap adjustment and may do the trick, a 2 is a bit soft on a stock mouthpiece like that.
