Gaston, I have a Beaugnier built Vito. It is impossible to say what it's sound "is" - it varies greatly with different mouthpiece and reed combinations. I don't have enough experience playing different makes of saxophone to say that it sounds similar to any particular one, but I can say that I am happy with it - I feel that I can get quite a rich and sonorous sound (others may disagree!). If it does have a weakness it is slightly uneven intonation playing up and down the scale.

Thanks for your amswer, i know 2 tenors beaugnier for sale not expensive at all.

This one is 300 E (390 USD) but the tube is a little twisted. It's supposed to be repairable. It's an old one, the action must be Hard.

I know en other one, later, chaeper, but i have no picture yet, and it's too far for me to go and try it ! That's why i'm asking about the sound.

Beware of bent/twisted horns. Although it can often be repaired, it takes a very skilled technician to iron out all the kinks (pun intended) with such a task. Not only are you talking about returning the body to a straight and true condition, but also all the key work alignment and bent rods that may be involved. That can cost a pretty penny as well.

Unless you know a quality tech well enough to trust that it will be done correctly and the cost for such work, I'd pass on such a horn.

Regarding the sound:

They have a typically French, centered, rather Selmerish tone, but the key work isn't as slick as the latter. Generally nicely made and not too expensive if in good repair/condition.

The few I've played sounded rather nice, but had some funky intonation issues. This could have been as much a setup issue as the horn itself, and my play time with them was limited.

Gaston, it looks pretty, but I would find out the cost of repairs before deciding to buy!

OK, thanks. I think i'll not buy the first one because of the repairing cost and the old keyworks. I'm still waiting for pics and information about the second one...
