Does anyone have any recommendations for a reputable shop in Las Vegas? Someone I know has a Mark VI they need to sell, and the horn is in Vegas. I promised I'd try and get the name of a shop that could give an honest appraisal of the horn's condition and not try to rip them off.

Any suggestions or recommendations would be most appreciated :!:

I was doing a convention gig in Vegas about 4 years ago. I needed an emergency repair on my horn. I took a cab to Ron Halls' place. He is a great repairman. After he fixed my horn (and didn't charge me near what the repair should have cost, I actually had to force him to take more money !!!), he gave me a lift back to my hotel on the strip!!!!! He will always be my repairman when I'm in Vegas.

Below is what a trumpet player had to say about Ron on another forum.

Best repair man. Ever.

Just to get this out there, if anyone ever has seemingly irreversible damage to their horn, theres an INCREDIBLE repair man you need to hear about. This guy is a legend.

Ron Hall, in Las Vegas, NV. He's in the phone book, I believe. Anyways, this guy is just astounding. He once fixed Louis Armstrong's horn in the 60's I believe. Anyways, this guy is so good, that he once repaired Carl Fontana's trombone after the entire BELL was RUN OVER BY A TRUCK. Seriously, aside from his nearly unfairly low prices, he's just amazing.

Ron Hall,

Anyways, if anyone ever needs MAJOR LEAGUE repair, and doesn't want to deal with a big beaurocracy of places like Giardinelli, send it to this guy. I promise amazing results.
