So I've been working on Flight of the Bumblebee (what can I say, it's a lot of fun to play) on my alto, and I can most of it now without a problem. Except for one part. Sixteenth note octave jumps at a 144 tempo. Not easy and I can't get it unless I slow it down, a lot. Any tips?

Start at a slow tempo. Work on it for one day at that tempo until you nail it. Then the next day up the tempo a little bit. Each day increase the speed, then you'll get it. That solves most problems.

Just remember that Woody Allen's uncle died playing "Flight of the Bumblebee" on the tuba. At least that's what he said in "Take the Money and Run".

So BE CAREFUL OUT THERE!

does anyone have the sheet music freely available for this song? I usually do "finger gymnastics" on major scales and chords- but doing this song should be really fun! I thought I had the music in my "Universal Method" book, but I couldn't find it the other day. Thanks!

I got the sheet music for "Flight of the Bumblebee". Just curious...they didn't give the tempo of the song on the chart. I figured the tempo was "just play as fast as you freakin' can!". Anyone have any ideas???
