SOZ, I've seen only one tenor ever, on the website of a shop in Berlin. It sold last fall for about 2800 EURO.
Other than the one pictured at Saxpics, I've never seen a sop.
Do both your altos play pretty much the same? They are both earlier S1 style horns, right?

MAG - I am not too well versed on the S1, S2, S3 stuff. Both horns do play a bit differetnly. One has the non-roll type Eb/C while one has rollers. Both have the split low Bb key and both are wonderfull sounding instruments.
Madav - Thanks for the tip. I don'r read dutch, but i did find the horn. I have emailed them a couple of times, but have not recieved any info or an offer to sell.

I have handled a S2 tenor, someone turned up at band practice with one. It is a relatively low-rent horn, nowehere near the quality of the SDA or S1. Although they hardly ever seem to come up for sale, I remember seeing an artcile (saxpics, maybe?) that said they were marketed as an intermediate horn - from what I saw, that's entirely correct. The keywork and finish showed none of the sophistication of the other Buffet Paris models. I wouldn't go for one of those.

There's an S1 tenor for sale by a poster on this forum, and you can find it in Marketplace. Pics (linked) are good and the horn has a fresh overhaul. If I needed a tenor, I'd be seriously considering this one.

SoZ - I emailed him in the past, and it was slow to say the least, but friendly. I think they're simply busy, or maybe the English is not up to scratch

Thanks for the tip, Madav. I must have frightened the seller off. He never wrote back and the horn is off the site now.

SOZ: I got a tenor, cupper version.
I'm just about to separate from it so if you're still interested, mail me.

Are these prestige horns still available? I have a tenor and love it. I'm also looking for a soprano and another tenor.
Sure, that ad was only 3 years old.

Apparently tenors and sopranos are pretty rare, and the baris rarer still (but NOT non-existent!) You rarely see one for sale (even an alto). Owners of these lovelies tend not to let them go.
I have a copper-bodied Prestige soprano with full S1 keywork to high G. It's the sweetest playing soprano I've ever tried, but more resistant than my Serie III. Still, like those mentioned above, I'm not parting with it.

I feel the same about my tenor. I'm hoping I will run into one in this lifetime.
