I've just got my hands on another old and odd mouthpiece. I suspect it's a single reed mouthpiece for contrabass sarrusophone, but I'm not surel. Maybe someone here knows exaclty what I've got?

It's marked:
C. MAHILLON
RD
93462

It's complete with cap and lig. The cap is also marked "C. MAHILLON".

The mouthpiece seems to be made of wood. It's got a small hole on the back so it could be attached to a bocal.

It's quite a bit larger than my Chedeville single reed bassoon mouthpiece. The hole for the bocal is also a bit larger but not much.

A Bb clarinet reed fits good, an alto sax reed is too wide.

The only single reed mouthpiece for sarrusophone that I have seen is the one made by Conn for their's. It took an alto sax reed and was the same size as an alto sax mouthpiece, however the hole for the bocal was drilled off-center, very low, to mate with the small chamber of the mouthpiece.

This mouthpiece is a bit larger than a soprano sax mouthpiece but not as large as an alto piece.
The hole is also drilled low off-center on this one.

Could it be a bass sarrusophone mouthpiece? Contrabassoon?
