Just a quick note (I had erroneously posted before that I bought an LA 650); I bought an LA 625 from the distributor a couple of weeks ago, and Wow! I love it!
My only complaint is that my right hand does not have the area to move around as I would have liked, but I don't know whether that is a function of the horn being curved, the LA design, or just because it's a soprano and I'm used to altos.:D
I'm using a Yani 5 at the moment with Hemke reeds, and I enjoy the sound, as well as the horn's ability for range, but looking for a bit more of a darker sound.
Anyhow, though I do not have much experience with sopranos (only a student Yamaha model earlier), I love this sax, and recommend anybody looking for a well-made middle-of-the-road model.
