SaxComposer: people from around the world participate in this forum. Their English is admirable, but your abbreviations and phonetic spellings may cause some problems. I'm a native English speaker and I struggled through that last post.

Saxcomposer, retread beat me to the punch on this one. With all due respect to your thoughts and concerns, you will be much more respected by the posters in here if you take a little extra time and spell out your words. Most posters in here have volumes of info, but may not want to take the time to share it with you if you wont take the time to type it out. Just my $.02

I agree with you entirely. What you are seeing is 'IMSpeak' - the language of AOL Instant Messenger. It distinguishes the young and ignorant from other more literate people. Allow me to translate into English for you:

Before: yea thats wut i was going to suggest cuz i have an alto 1 and i love it but i wanna get other ppls opinions b4 i suggest ne thing to her

After: Yes, that is what I was going to suggest. I have an alto Antigua, and although I find it to be quite good, I would like to gather some opinions from others before I suggest the Antigua to my friend.

I'm not proud of my ability to translate IMSpeak into English, but these days, it's a more useful skill than for me to know French, which is the foreign language I learned in high school. I hope this helps.

Yamaha YSS 475 or Yani S901

The Yamaha YSS 475 kills the mid-price Soprano contenders and you can actually sell one used if you ever find a new sax you like better.

If you purchase a YSS-475 for $1600, in a couple of years you can get $1,100 for it. If you purchase an Antigua for $700, in a couple of years you sell it for $200. I'm just using the selling prices as an example. It seems like an "economic" break even.

I've played both and lean toward the Antigua soprano, but the Yamaha is nice too. I think the buyer should try both, and decide.

ok people thanks and sorry about the abbreviations, but I still might do a few but they will be accidental. I was in a hurry when writing that post so I couldn't fully spell out words sorry about that, Yet I'm not really that old as you can see if you read my info.... but thanks everyone for your help but it would be great if there were some more suggestions.

Why would you want more suggestions? You are fortunate that the suggestions are focused on only 3 good choices. Do you have another make/model, in mind, that you'd like comments about?

If you can afford it, get the Yanagisawa S901. It is by far the best soprano of the 3 discussed.

I personally am partial to the Antigua's because I am one of their largest retailers. But if price is NOT the issue, then get the Yani, it will blow Everything out of the water... regardless of the price range you compare it to.

Yes I am fortunate to only have 3 different sax's listed and thank you everyone for your help. I don't know if price is a problem because its not me getting it I'm just helping a friend. Thank you everyone for your help and support
