I'm trying to identify my father's saxophone and have looked at the websites, but I'm not sure I know enough about them to determine what it is. It is a Martin with serial number 111796 It is engraved "Martin Handcraft" Elkhart, Indiana. Its gold with pearl keys. Looking at the location of the keys, I think its an Imperial. Any suggestions?

With that serial number, I believe it could be a Handcraft Imperial. That horn has distinctive bell engraving. Check www.saxpics.com for more. E-mail me some pics and I'll be glad to do what I can to ID the horn.
Hi, have you already identified your fathers sax? I´m also looking for the correct model of my martin handcraft #111768, but can´s find any sources with pics of such a engravement. Are you sure about the model of your #111796? Greetings from Germany, Lutz
