Hi,
Some years ago I aquired an silver alto. I really like it and it has a peculiar sound. Also, one of the previous owners sawed off the mouthpiece and made it shorter. I guess it is to make it sound more like a regular alto.
I would like to know more about the instrument.
It says Kohlert & Söhne, Popular 2, serial no. 265***
Anyone that knows some history on the maker and the instruments they made?
