SaxDaddy (a member of this board--saxdaddy@napbirt.org) is a formally trained repair tech specializing in sax repair located in Effingham, Illinois. He has rebuilt one of my horns (wow!) and repaired two others for me (one was nearly a rebuild) as well as one for my student. His work has consistently been top notch and his attention to detail continues to amaze me. His turnaround time has also been excellent--About two weeks even for a total rebuild, and his prices are reasonable. I make the 8 hour round trip when I need repairs simply because SaxDaddy is the best tech I have found, and a cool guy to boot. If you are located in the midwest (or not?) and need a sax tech, you might give Saxdaddy a go.

Mike W. is a pleasure to work with, he takes pretty good care of his horns, he lets me do my thing when comes to fixing them up. Not to mention that we have lunch almost every time he makes the trip. I enjoy his visits, and test playing his horns, That super 20 really rocks.
Anyhow thanks for the listing Mike.

Another positive here. Mike just completed a total rebuild on a LATE true-tone alto for me. I don't think the keywork could feel any better. So tight!!, pops like mad. I'll definitely second the "attention to detail" as mentioned above. BTW, don't play him in foosball unless you want to loose.

Thanks for the post John. John has some chops, and was alot of fun to work with, since he is able to feel the difference in even the smallest of adjustments, which really lets me try and taylor the job to the customer, something I enjoy being able to do. Sorry about the foosball, but it was alot of fun playing, haven't ever got any other customer to play me yet, but I am always open for a game. Thanks again John it was alot of fun.
