See if you can find a trashed King-Marigaux that has a good neck and guy it cheap.

DO NOT try buying a Heimer - they DO NOT make good parts horns.

SML tenor necks seem like pretty different beasts than most others out there, so I don't think you'll have very good luck trying to cross-breed it with another neck, but I could be wrong.

I play an Peter Ponzol (made by Keilwerth) neck on my SML Tenor. The intonation is fine and the upper register, esp the flageolets, works much easyer than with the original neck.

I´m not quite sure, wether the diameter fits in, because bevore I used that neck on a Conn naked Lady. But at Keilwerth they made a good work to fit it on the SML.

Keep swingin´

Hope this will be of use to you.

Take a peek at the NECK forum, too. www.gloger-handkraft.com says that they can fabricate just about any neck you want and the price is OK (477 euros for a copper neck for tenor).

Tim Price has also been talking about the wooden necks. I think he's got the link in the Neck forum. I dunno if those are better priced. Remember to factor in shipping and/or customs.

Thanks you guys. The Yamaha neck on it sounds great but I would like to have the original neck as well if possible. Happy blowing 8)
