I have tendonitus in my hands/ elbows so that is a consideration in any horn I would purchase. I've owned Yamaha's , Martins, (all tenors) , King Super 20, Conn Chu and 10 M, Yani 900, and a Selmer 6. Trialed Guardalas and Keilworths also and my friends (Cashsax) Mad Meg is the only horn that seems to have the depth of character of my The Martin along with a contemporary edge and projection of a modern horn. All at a decent price. Any tips from other players on how you customised the horn for ease of playing on your hands , wrists, elbows. I can practice around 45 mins a day and get through the 4 hour weekend gig but I'd like to be able to practice more and the main reason I've stuck with my The Martin is that It doesn't bother my hands as much as other horns. I asked Tim to lighten the action on the horn and flatten the octave key so it's easier to play. Any other suggestions. (I got some great tips from Son of Zorn and am taking Alexander tech lessons and drinking lots of water but I still have to really limit my practicing.) Thanks for any suggestions. K

Keith, congrats on your choice..you always sound great on your Martin but standing in front of (my) CBMM you instantly sounded a lot fatter and richer..I predict you'll be blown away on your first date with the CBall, I know I was on mine..I think you'll like the ergo's better too after some playing time on it..relax and enjoy the ride.. 8)

Keith - I can't wait to hear you on the Cannonball!
I think you've made a wise choice with the mad meg.
I've switched from the Yamaha 62s I've played for 20 years to the mm (alto and tenor).
If your right hand is still giving you problems, consider having a good tech relocate the thumbrest to be more comfortable for your hand size.

This will sound strange, but try a banana. Sometimes, extra potassium will help. Bananas have a lot of that. Try a banana a day for a week and see if next weekend isn't a bit better.
Hey, the side effects are minimal!! :)

How low was the price you saw?? I'm getting mine for a little more than what you paid (50 bucks) but I think Tims set up work is exceptional from what I've heard. I'll try the bannana idea. I like them anyway. I told Tim to lighten the action to make the horn feel like a 30 year old smooth /broken in sax. Also I don't use the right hand thumb hook to support the horn when I play the Martin. I let the neck strap support almost all the weight until I get into the gig and all my good habits go out the window. K

K, it was $1299. I think, your set-up will be worth any extra dough..my first 2 dates with the Poyntless Sis' I killed with my CBall..good reviews on the sound.

Cash, I know they are tired of the sax merry go round. If you made them you're main gig and didn't drop them like the other guys you'd get alot of work out of them. K
