I'm trying to share this cool product (I'm biased because we make it), but it REALLY WORKS! It is a small tear drop shaped piece that sticks on the inside of any standard sax mouthpiece- and it increases the velocity of the airflow through the mpc. These are sold as PowerTone baffles. They are a pretty slick product. You can play around with its location away from the tip rail to dial in a sound you like.

The exact physics of what is going on is complex. Increased velocity does create more negative pressure which has a role to play in vibrating the reed. Another part is the geometry change on the way sound waves bounce off the reed and reflect off the baffle.

Hi, anymore experience with these things? Are there any other brands on the market? Are there other types of removeable spoilers which will fit a number of pieces?
