I am just about to get a c soprano repadded and would be grateful for any advice regarding the best type of pads to fit, ie plain or with resonators.

Thanks in advance

More importantly use the correct thickness pads. Old Conns with rolled toneholes, use Conn Ring pads. Bueschers use the correct thin pad. Too thick a pad and the intonation will be so far off that it will be unplayable. Pay the money and get a good quality repad, you can get pads of the correct thickness and quality from Musicmedic.
