After years away from the sax I decided to get back into it but I am amazed by all that I did not know.

I have an antique circa 1919 to 1925 King H.N. White Company Alto Sax. Problem is I broke the orginal ligature and since that time have had trouble with the sound. The new ligature I bought leaks or something. The mouth piece is smaller than those made now. So I'm sure this has been covered before but what kind of ligature should I get?

Ligatures are made in many sizes. Get to a good retail store and try a bunch. OR, try clarinet ligs. OR try smaller Rovners (for clarinet or HR soprano pieces). DAVE
