My teacher lent me a book today (The Sax & Brass Book, Balafon, UK, 1998) which reproduces a Conn ad from 1922. The ad itself is too small to read, but the note underneath reads:
Conn briefly introduced coloured-laquer saxophones in 1922, as this ad shows, with its "purple, rose, green, blue or striking black and silver". But the idea did not last long at the time.
Do any of these still exist?
