Benedikt Eppelsheim has posted two recordings I made of his new Bb bass saxophone. There will be more recordings posted soon by other artists using his bass sax.

If you have trouble getting the mp3 recordings to play, go to his home page and then click the English language box.

This saxophone is a conventional bass sax with a very large bore for a big booming sound. Except for the beautiful curved neck, the saxophone looks normal. However, the keywork is incredible. Normal fingerings, but extremely fast action.

I love the bass saxophone...
provided I don't have to blow it, lift it or carry it around.

Enjoyed the clips, however, and was pleasantly surprised. I've never heard one before and figured they just kinda went "oompah, oompah".

Sounds like it would do a great version of "O Danny Man".

And she is one beautiful beast to look at.

That's cool. It sounds like a wild mating call... If I was a moose, I'd be in love :reindeer: ;)
