One definately can't tell from the single pic. Sounds like word-smithing to me with precious little facts. Note the provider doesn't even have a rating. Buyer beware!

It's closely related to the Yamaha Top Hat & Naked Lady.

I thought the selmer London Super Penns were made in the USA - I have never heard of a connection with either Selmer Paris or Yanagisawa.

This may well be legit. Don Mackrills' website lists a Selmer Super Penn soprano as having been "Made by Yanagisawa like a Mk6 Imported by Selmer London in the early 70's".

I will email Mackrills to see what more he may know about these.

Good luck with the email. Mackrill's have the same approach to customer service as Basil Fawlty :?
I agree though, they would be the people to ask, they have been in the business for decades and the Super Penn was a UK marketed product 30+ years ago.

I made the email sound like I was interested in the Super Penn soprano they have listed on their website. Hopefully they'll bite...

Oh yes, that's the way you'd have to do it! Trouble is, most of what they list, they don't actually have, I think they update the site annually or thereabouts.

That occurred to me, especially since there is no picture of the soprano on the website. We shall see...

Hi, all. Is it my imagination, or are the bell keys on that horn up for auction on the wrong side? That is, the wrong side for a curved sop made by Yanagisawa? Something doesn't seem right here....

AAAAAHHH!!! Sorry for wasting time and bandwidth. It's an ALTO, so the bell keys tell no tale. Soprano on the brain, or something.
