music resume

can any of you pros or teachers give me some advice about resumes (or here in the UK - CVs). i have one for my 'other' jobs, but now i need one specificaly for music stuff. i've played in lots of different bands in many styles, and i want to get it all in there, but on the other hand i don't want to be handing out a novel that no one is going to read...

If it is not a problem I would like to receive some sample too. I'm working in mine and I don't know if I should include others experiences or just the music, etc.
