please help me! (oboe)

ok i know this is a sax site but i need help i have been one the web for like 2 hours trying to find some thing on my oboe that my grandma gave me it says on the bell Ambassador Junior F.E Olds & Son and on the back of the bell is
s497 if that is any help please help if u can thanks

From what I could find on the web, that oboe was probably made sometime in the 1950s, as the Olds Company was making brasses also called Ambassador Juniors during that time. This oboe is almost certainly a stencil instrument, meaning that Olds didn't actually make it, but they had another manufacturer produce oboes for them, and the Olds company stamped their name on it.
