I have a 1906 Conn tenor sax, serial number 112XX. I was wondering if anyone can tell me some information about it. Thank you.

Hard to say...It's definitely one of the oldest of Conns still floating around. Does it have any other markings, such as an "H" or "high pitch", or "L" or "Low Pitch". There's not a whole lot of discussion of pre-World War I Conns simply because the numbers aren't there. Conn produced more saxes in 1927 than they did from 1895 through 1912. Your horn probably has greater value as a collector's item than a true player's horn, such as the pre-Chu or the Chu. I know if I found a 1906 Conn, I'd add it to my collection.

The only other marking on it, is "L". It is a very neat horn, with very little wear marks, only on the octave key and on some of the left palm keys. I am actually planning on selling her, if your interested you can email me at michael@jenandmichaels.com . Thank you very much for replying.
You want more info? I'll give you more info: http://www.saxpics.com/conn/colconnwonder.htm
(Eventually I'll be updating that page, but the information is pretty accurate.)

Wow... thanks that's the horn alright... it doesn't have the split octave key, but it was made in 1906. It even has the same case with the purple ribbon accross it. Thanl you for more info, always trying to learn more about vintage saxes. Again Thanks
