Hello People, I am new to this forum and I am a little surprised with this particular BC horn - it doesn't have a serial number! Somebody please shed a light on this. Nedd info ASAP. Much Appreciated.

You got pictures?

I'm publishing my Buffet update to my website right now -- I might not be finished until tomorrow -- and it's much more accurate than what I currently have. If you don't have any pictures, you might be able to determine what kind of horn you have from the pictures I'm publishing there.

Thanks. I'll see what I can do with the picture situation. The instrument is just being offered for sale to me. It just spooked the heck out of me because the only saxes I know which can possibly don't have serial numbers are the Kohlerts. I don;t know where it came from and who actually owns it and what was done to the serial numbers, if any.

Some Buffets have the serial number in a different place.

This is my own horn as pictured on Pete Hales' site. Look under the Eb-C# RH pinky keys--there's the serial number. Ask your seller to look there.

Thank you all for giving me this info. The serial number is hidden and he himself didn't know it was there. I just whipped out my wallet and shelled out 700 bucks for the beauty before he changes his mind. :D

Glad to be able to help. BTW, if the horn is a DA (yep, mine is--a sweet one at that!), you'll like it.

This is my first post, tough I've been searching a lot in this forum. I'm a 40-year-old brazilian dentist living in Brasilia.
I bought a silver Buffet Crampon S-A alto sax and looked for his serial number but couldn't find it yet. My question: should all of BC's have a serial number?
Any help?

They should. Do you have an ornante bell brace like the one pictured in my avator or a plain wire one?

I wish my S-A (18-20) could have all that beautiful engraving. It's a silver wired alto sax, just like the silver model presented in saxpics.com.
I sent it to repair and in a few days I'll have it back.
Cheers,

Dumars engraving is fantastic. Thank you!
I checked http://www.saxpics.com/the_gallery/buffet/1940_1944/alto/silver/287/p1010013.jpg and it seems that's the place.
