Great! What do you like about this setup that you didn't get from other setups?

Ya know, I'm with you. I played a friend's 10m many years ago and haven't really found another horn with the character. Well my ref54 is perfection, but that 10m had so much individuality and character.

Cassino, of course you're welcome to get that extender ;) but my first two tenors were Conn 10M's and I didn't notice any problem playing the F; didn't know any better. You might give it a little time and see if you really need it.
BTW, that is a great set up. Enjoy!

Good for you Casino. I put my BA away when I got my 10M, they're great horns. My front F is easy to reach, but it's too high, my index finger runs into the side of the key most of the time when I'm reaching for it. Maybe it's my small hands. I could have it lowered, there's a lot of felt underneath, but I'm afraid of having anybody do any drastic work on my baby.

I'll bet that setup is huge sounding. Congrads on "arriving".
Can you post a little mp3 for us?

i will try to get a clip of me playing at my next lesson...
Cassino500,
Sounds like you did the same thing I did. I had 3 VI's, a Ref36, a Series III, JK SX90R, Mark VII and I trialed a Yani T991. And now I'm on a 1941 Conn 10M. Interestingly, back when I was trying out horns for my first pro horn I was "on the fence" between a VI that was a killer horn and a 10M. I liked the 10M's sound and blow better than the VI but I was fearful of its' keywork. I ultimately went for the VI and hence began my long (and painful to my wife) horn search. If I had only gone for the 10M in the first place.
Oh, what model Dukoff from the 80's are you playing? I currently play a new NY Link 6* on my 10M. I'd love to try a Hollywood Dukoff but they are a bit too expensive and elusive.
Good luck with your horn.
