I have a problem! i'm the conductor of a Brassband (and i play sax?!?!)

I have 2 groups of students: beginners (playd 1-4 years) and students that have playd for 5-10 years.

To teach them i have professional music teachers, and some of the old band members in my band (they dont play there any more, they are to old 19+).

what shall i do?

1) let the pros teach the youngest, to give them the proper starting ground, so they develop all the right technique, emochure.. and have the old band members teach the older students.

2) let the older band members teach the young students while the pros teach the older students so they develop further (musicaly), and proberly/maybe gain more inspiration.

(btw. there is not enough money or time to have the pros teach all)

Hope some of you can help me out here!

If you know your more experienced students and have an idea which you think might make good teachers I would be inclined to let these loose on your beginners. It would be good experience for both. I think, though, that you have to choose carefully because a bad teacher can do an awful lot of harm.
It's a situation that you may have to be prepared to change if you find it not working. Monitor it carefully.
