I am looking for anyone that can help.
I have had my Bari w/low A for about 12 years. It has Vito engraved on it and has a serial #974419 (japan). I have heard that this horn was made at the yani factory but i am not sure of the year or model of my horn.

Any help would be awsome.

hey there,

Yes your bari is a Yanagisawa. Is it a "Vito" or "Vito VSP". I have one that is a plain "Vito" it was built in 1976 and is a B-6 model. In college I played a "Vito VSP" that was a newer B901. Either way they are great horns.

Someone else might correct me if I am wrong, but your serial number MIGHT indicate a build year of 1974 (see the second and third digits) which would make it a B-6.

I think there are some threads in the Yani section that will help decipher the differences between models. Good luck and have fun with that great bari!
