Looks like a Pan American that isn't labelled as such. The keywork and two-tone finish suggest that to me.

Pan American was a stencil though. This clearly has CONN engraved on the bell. This is one of the transitional models made between the NEW WONDER and Naked Lady models. 166xxx puts this horn at late 1925 or early 1926. Engravings and keywork varied a lot durring this time so that would explain the weird Eb. I've seen the transitional models with underslung octave keys that looked like later models. But if this were a Pan American, it would not have the CONN name on it.

Hmm. 166xxx seems way too early for a tranny. 266xxx would probably be too late. Might be a good idea to email the seller & confirm that serial number.

I'll bet the serial # is incorrect, the engraving looks to be later 50's style and it does not seem to have rolled tone holes.

Looks like a 14M Director alto, sister horn to the 16M tenor. Only difference was the 14M usually had the "shooting stars" engraving.

It's definitely not a 20's era Conn. The bell keys are on the side, a la 6M. The serial number could be correct, except that the seller forgot to put the "N" in front of the serial. That would put it as an early 60s horn, which would seem more plausible.
