BU Models

From what I have read the BU models are so so horns....but is this correct

BU- 3 Soprano

BU-4 Alto

BU-5 Tenor

BU-6 Baritone

all distributed by Selmer USA made in Taiwan

Yeah the're cheap student horns made in Taiwan. They have the Buescher name but not the quality of the old vintage Bueschers made in the USA. That's why no one made a reply to your post. To the Buescher snobs here, The BU models are not "real" Bueschers and therefore not worthy of a reply. Sorry.

Well, it could be that the Buescher "snobs" simply haven't played the modern BU horns and therefore cannot comment. The hearsay is that these Taiwanese horns do not match up to the vintage models.

I guess I'm a Buescher SNOB (but I play other brands as well) and I didn't reply because I didn't have much to add, nor am I familiar with the model designations.

I examined one new "Buescher" soprano and it did not appear to be anything I wanted to play. Plus, the original poster already nailed the issues I had by saying he heard they were "so-so". DAVE

well i can say the BU% Tenor is correct considering i have one. plays very well
