Anyone tried Flying Goose reeds?

Yes I have but had to stop after a short time because they were so rough it was killing my lip. In fact it prompted me to make a permanent change to Legere plastic for both alto & tenor. rusty

I got a flying goose reed on a metal mouthpiece from PRC. Not a good reed.

I was going on a bit earlier about how rough on the lips Goose reeds were ,but I had a go on the lip side with the finest emery paper I could buy.( I think it was 1200 grit) The reed polished up very nice and is now super smooth. I`ve only tried 2 so far but if this is how the rest of the pack turns out I`ll be happy. It`s natural to think cheap stuff is rubbish but maybe not always.
