Hi,
Does anyone know anything about the Majestic R&C Tenor? It looks to have a silver plated body with solid silver keys?
Is this a "student" or "professional" model?
Many thanks....

What's a Majestic R&C Tenor? I'm curious about it.
I own a R&C R1 Jazz tenor, but never heard that Rampone & Cazzani produced such a model. Their actual catalogue includes 4 models: Super, Deluxe, R1 and R1Jazz. This is their link:http://www.ramponecazzani.it/static/english/index.php.
Cheers

Pepesax,
The sax is on ebay:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=7391006949&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT
From what the seller is saying they used to have three versions:
Super
Deluxe
Majestic
Does this mean that the Majestic has been replaced by the R1?

Thank you Alastair D,
didn't know about the existance of the R&C Majestic model. The actual owners of R&C labs have taken up the production in the early 1990's and must have changed models. The Majestic looks like a precursor of the R1, with similar shape and keywork and maybe some adjustments in ergonomics, but don't know anything about materials used.

Sounds more like the "collector" model.... why on earth would they use sterling for the keywork? Whatever, I think I'll have to bid on this one, thanks for the heads-up ... (just kidding ;))

Hi everyone. I have the Majestic R & C tenor on ebay. I also have one of the Deluxe versions. They were owned by my Dad who imported several of these saxes from Italy in 1988/89. In those days they came in three grades, as already mentioned: Super, Deluxe and Majestic. The Majestic is the professional model. It has a brass lacquered body and silver plated keys - I know they are not solid silver, as mine has a bit of wear and you can see they are brass underneath. This horn plays really well and is beautifully made. I don't know when this model was deleted. The Deluxe has a slightly brighter sound, for my money. There does not seem to be a huge difference between them, but the Majestic is more solid an dcomes in a nicer case!
