Hi,
I got an old Alto-Sax named "Praesident", stamped on the backside with "Pure Tone Trademark" and Number 1294. The Seller told me, that it is from Keilwerth, but I´m not shure. Does somebody know something about this instrument?
Thanks
Gerald

The President was a model produced by the German Hohner company, run by one of the Keilwerth brothers (Max? Richard? can't remember - I'm sure someone else will know though). Good quality horns, worth holding on to. I should perhaps add I have no first hand experience of them, but this is the impression I get from general reading; they come up on German eBay quite often, and command quite high prices.

Not sure. I think the bell keys are round, like on a Zephyr - see http://www.saxpics.com/Keilwerth/misc_pics/hohner/alto/2_tone/10670/993737688747_Dsc00066.jpg and http://www.saxpics.com/Keilwerth/misc_pics/hohner/alto/2_tone/10670/993737686778_Dsc00067.jpg.
