I found a mouthpiece I'd like to buy at this online store, but have not heard of them before. Does anyone have here dealt with them? www.justsaxes.com

In 2000 I got a beautiful mint silver Buescher True-Tone alto with a * neck from Palo, which he had overhauled and polished himself. He did a great job and was very solicitous of me before the sale, wanting to make sure the horn was right. (He was relatively new to sax work at the time and I gave him a few tips on tuning the True-Tones.) Upshot: the horn WAS right and I would deal confidently with him. I wonder how he's doing after all the business down there; I haven't heard much.

Paul - thanks. That's what I needed to know. Always like to make sure the businesses I run across on the 'net are "for real" before I send them money. I've not contacted him yet and I guess there is a good chance that his website has not have been updated recently. Still ... thanks again.

I live in New Orleans, and while I haven't dealt with Palo in a number of years, a number of my friends use him as their main tech. They all say he is pretty much back in action. In fact, he just bought a new house. He gave me a really good deal on a slamming Conn 6M a few years back. He doesn't sell anything that doesn't play great.

I used to buy from Palo all the time when I lived in Dallas full time and jammed in New Orleans. He is a great guy and always has some sweet horns for sale. Order from him without hesitation.

Guys, thank you all.

baribassdan, was that you in the jazz tent last Saturday, opening for Herbie Hancock?!

I was too far away to be sure.

To answer some of the questions on this thread, I'm sort of open part time for biz. Full service might never resume, I'll have to see how I feel after a few months.

I look in here maybe once every few months, or sometimes longer. Best way to reach me is direct, via email.

Take care, all,
Palo

Hot damn, Dan! You sounded great. First time I ever heard you live. Very impressed. I thought the show came off really really well. They played it on the radio the next day, I think, and it sounded really good. Give me a call some time. Doesn't have to be about work.

Pete! Long time! I'll write you a good long letter when I get a chance to catch you up and again flog myself for not getting you a DVD of your int yet.

Randall, thank you.
