Can anyone recommend a tech to work on & appraise Mark VI's in the greater Denver area? I need to get my horns' appraisals updated, and my tenor neck worked on, and I currently don't know a repair tech to trust around here. Living in Colorado Springs I'm admittedly clueless about options in Denver, but of course it'll be worth the drive for someone good.

Thanks so much for any guidance!

Jeb

I can recommend Larry Naylor in Denver, or Rob Smith in Pueblo. They are Both great techs who I had visited prior to my becoming a technician myself. I have to say that I would still love to spend some time studying with Larry as he is very likely one of the top repair techs in the country.

I don't think Montrose is all that close to Denver, but Keith Carey is in Montrose and he's the best!

Have you contacted Larry Mynett here in the 'Springs?

Email me if you want his number.

Tim Glesman with Sax Alley is a great tech I've used even after moving to California. I realize Fort Collins isn't really too close to Colorado Springs but it's a heck of a lot closer than where I am on the "Left Coast".

Tim is living in Windsor right now. He moved from Ft. Collins years ago.

I was aware he was in Winsor, it's just more people are aware of Fort Collins as a geographic point.

Jeb,
Once again I will recommend Larry Naylor in Denver or Rob Smith in Pueblo. They are both exceptional technicians that I would take my horns to if I hadn't become a tech myself. And I will be very happy if I can ever attain the level of expertiese of Larry.

I am another Tim Glesman fan. www.saxalley.com . Tim does great work, tops in CO in my opinion. Matt Curtis at Kolacny Music in Denver is also a very capable repairman.

Formerly,
You brought a smile to my face mentioning Kolacny. When I was just starting sax (mid 70's) the tech at Kolacny's checked for leaks on my horn by blowing smoke through it.

Speaking of Kolacny's, it was about the mid 70's when I took lessons there. Geez, time just disapears quicker and quicker anymore. I'll be an "old fart" before I know it.
