Don't know if this shold go under this topic or under Selmer but her it goes. Someone asked a while ago about the Oleg front F key for Mark VI sopranos. I had my VI overhauled and had a front F key put on and it's just great. Probably doesn't do much for the resale value but I own it to play so I didn't care. Works just like a front F on any modern soprano with no difference to the rest of the horn. My repairman (Desert Winds in Tempe AZ) did have to call Oleg to make sure he was installing it correctly so I guess it's not a do it yourself project. I highly reccomend it if you want the convenience of the key.

Thanks for your post, Adam. I'd asked about the aftermarket front F for the VI soprano in the old Selmer section. I was curious about how well the add-on functioned since the lack of the front F seems to be a common knock on the VI (along with the palm key configuration). So, the intonation didn't get any quirkier with the extra linkage(s)?

Jake in SF...no it doesn't affect the intonation at all...it only lifts the cup attatched to the upper rh side key and holds down the 1st finger b key at the same time so there is only really one linkage and it doesn't do anything when it's not depressed...just like altos, tenors and newer sopranos.

Jake in SF - Do have a website adress for Oleg products or for an outfit that sells Oleg products ? I'm interested in getting a fork F setup for Mk VI soprano sax. Thanks - Ed
