composing

my dad and i make a pretty good team on alto duet and alto, tenor duets, also (alto, tenor, or barri) duets with piano. we've also made some recordings (just because we know the right people) and got some songs on cd (but we're not gonna go big or nothing) but we can't seem to compose our own music...any ideas?

he and I do alto and tenor duets, alto and alto duets, piano and alto/piano and tenor duets, etc.

any tips on composing your own music would be great.
