I myself teach because I have a love for it,the same kind of love as I do playing, and I consider myself very lucky to be able to DO both.As well as love both!!! My teaching has two simple goals. The first is to help each student discover and grow into the musician (saxophonist) that they are after.EG-reaching YOUR goals!
As well as personal skills, and to further their musicianship.
The second is to transmit the important lineages of Joe Viola,Sal Nistico, Sonny Stitt,Don Christlieb ( bassoon), Charlie Mariano and Andy McGee who I was very lucky to study with at length.
This level of bringing the classroom and the street together is vital for jazz.It needs it now more than ever.
For learning musicians, as well as younger students it is very important to be honoring style, playing well in tune, projecting sound, having a strong chops.
Sinse I also love rock saxophone...this is very important to the people interested in getting some "hands on" industrial strength information on playin' sax in this idiom.
Music IS music...we learn from all of it.I teach any level, style and...any age.
There's always something cookin' here-workshops,masterclasses or just solid one on one lessons.Check in with me.
If you are around the Philadelphia or New York City..or just passin' thru
on travel- CHECK ME OUT. I'm here to help.Just E mail me at TEP251SAX@AOL.COM.
Thanks!!!

Just wondering, but where at in PA? I'm on the western side, but I'm sure I could convince my parents to drive me to the eastern side for a workshop.
