I'm not sure what you mean by "blatty" but the low notes on tenor need a lot of air support. Try rolling down to them and try to keep the tone the same. If the notes die then you may have a leak somewhere.
For altissimo, definitely don't take less mpc. in. Keep it the same. You will need slightly more jaw pressure but not much. It's mostly in the oral cavity. Pick a note that gives you trouble and experiment by moving your tongue back and forth and up and down. When you find the sweet spot, try to lock on to that. Then try the next higher note with the same tongue position. If it doesn't work on the next note, start looking for that sweet spot again. I don't know your experience level, but you probably already know that it will eventually become automatic.
I had to do this recently when I got a new horn because it was so different from every other horn I had ever played.
Hope this helps!

Definitely keep the same embouchure. What helps me is to try to blow warm air, not cold: a "Whaa/Whoa" or "Hoe" sound. Try blowing on a mirror to fog it up. This opens the throat up and provides breath support. Your mileage may vary.
