Sacramento area late bloomers

It's time again to put out a call to Sacramento (Calif.) area adult students of the saxophone. We four older beginning players have met a few times to play and attend jazz concerts. There are five relatively new sax players in our little circle. We've been playing about 2-3 years on average and meet occasionally in Rio Vista to honk and chat. Sometimes local musicians stop by to give us encouragement.

From your web site, it appears that you have much more experience than us, but you're most welcome to join us for our next gathering coming up Aug. 1.

The next sax gathering in Rio Vista is Aug. 1 (afternoon). The one after that is Aug. 29. We're trying to meet every last Sunday of the month.

Incidentally, I'm trying to find adult students of any instrument who might wish to network and practice with folks in the Sacramento area interested in learning jazz tunes and improvisation. I found a serious piano student and we're trying to build a community of adult jazz students. Double bass, bass guitar, keyboard, drums, trumpet, flute, clarinet, jazz guitar, etc. would be welcome. If you know of such people, send them my way.

Alright, I know this is a very old thread but I came across it through some web search and was curious if any of you guys are still around and still meet? I live in Galt and have been playing my alto for a little over a year now, and would love to meet with some other player to practice, learn, jam, what ever... at 47, I guess I am a late bloomer as well :o)
