Okay, I need some enlightenment here. I've played tenor and alto for 20+ years and I've wanted to add both a soprano and a bari. Found that the "Selmer/Buescher" student model is quite cheap. Is it worth the metal it's made from? My alto is an old Vito student model (Yamaha manuf. if I'm not mistaken) and serves the purpose fine (as tenor is my preference). Any input appreciated.

My son almost bought one of these from a woodwind teacher who got it new from WWBW. After a few conversations, she said her conscience would not allow her to sell such a poor quality instrument to a student. Bad intonation, very soft brass, etc. I'm glad she was honest.

I just bought a BU-3 soprano sax and so far I have been happy with it as an entry instrument. There are somethings that I would like to be better on it but overall as a starter soprano its worth its cheap price tag.
