As the title says, I am looking for such a method. I am teaching a friend how to play piano, but the method/theory/technique books that I used are all very much aimed toward children. Is there a complete beginner book out there that doesn't treat the learner as a child?

Once we get passed the "this note is C," and "this constitutes a scale" phase, I have material that will be perfectly adequate -- and songs that she'll be able to have fun playing. But what methods can we use to get that learned, short of me being in constant contact to answer any questions?

Thanks a lot,

Dan

Thanks Gary. I wasn't aware such a website existed... Who would have imagined there'd be an entire website devoted to a single instrument? What's more, it contains a forum so that all players, beginner to advanced, could come together and talk about anything that relates to their instrument. What a great idea.

(No really, thanks. That thread should get me what I've been looking for.)
