Ohhhhh... I feel sorry for the neighbours....

I've been playing Tenor Sax for about 3 months... My wife has just taken up the Violin.... and now she's persuaded me to buy an electronic keyboard so that I can accompany her as she learns violin.

This would be great if I'd ever played a keyboard... But anyway, bought a Yamaha PSS-380 for £10 on eBay (about $15) which has hardly been used....

Any tips on how I can at least become ok on keyboard as soon as possible??? I've no desire to become good, just passable. Most of my spare time needs to be on the Sax....

What kind of music do you want to play? Do you have any background at all on keyboards? If you like jazz and blues, here's two great books by Dr. Bert Konowitz: "Teach Yourself To Play Blues" and "Blues & Jazz Complete". They both come with a CD. Both books are for C instruments, but I have transcribed pieces from them for alto sax.

We both like jazz and blues so I will look both books out.

I have no background at all on keyboards, my only musical background is the flute (and not very well....) about 30 years ago...

OK, here's the very basic books for adult beginners: "Adult Piano Course, Book One" by John W. Schaum, "The Older Beginner Piano Course" by James Bastien and "John Brimhalls Adult Piano Course".
Good Luck!
